Strategy, design, and creative—since dotcom 1
I began as a Designer with a background in Interaction and Creative, dabbled in Code, then moved to mobile Product and UX, where I've been creating and shipping apps for over a decade for companies like Google, ConsenSys, MySpace, and a few early stage startups that didn’t work out.
Lately I've been creating original content for a handful of special projects. One of them is Motoveli—Brooklyn’s hyperlocal zine for riders and creators. The project is bootstrapped and 100% rider-supported.
Ryan Snelson is a design leader based in Brooklyn. The majority of his career has been in startups and tech companies. He was a UX Designer on Google Search (2011), where he worked on a mobile UI for OneBox results. Ryan lead the mobile team at MySpace during a massive redesign (2009-11)—helping create and launch 6 social apps on iOS and Android.
In 2018 he co-founded an experimental blockchain company within ConsenSys. His focus was on Governance and Digital ID, with an attempt to fix the voting process.
Ryan played a major role in the creation of Citymaps, a Social Map Platform (2012-14) as Head of Product and UX, where he helped define and execute the product vision from scratch. Citymaps was featured in the Apple App Store and acquired by TripAdvisor.
Between gigs, Ryan has experimented with emerging tech in Hardware, Augmented Reality, and Social Messaging.
